Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by 31 runs in match number eight of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday, March 27. Batting first after losing the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted 277/3, a new record for the highest IPL total; the previous best being 263/5 by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) against Pune Warriors in IPL 2013. In response, Mumbai Indians put up the highest IPL score by a team batting second - 246/5 - but still fell quite a distance short of the target.
